Southwell City U18’s football team finished 2021 in style, winning their last six games of the year, scoring 29 goals in the process and conceding just 7. The team deserved to finish on a high after some great performances, which also saw them progress through two rounds of the cup.
Many of the lads in the team are now also playing for the club’s new Under 21 team and are on the verge of getting experience of adult football with the first team. For one or two of the players, it will be a real milestone when they do make their senior debuts as they will have been with the club since they were just 7 years old. A fantastic achievement!
Under 9’s
One of the clubs younger teams, the Under 9’s boys, are in desperate need of a manager to allow the team to enter the league and play regular matches. Currently they are attending training sessions run by one of the club’s coaches. However they now need a willing parent that would be able to take the team under his or her wing. Full training will be given to any volunteer, including FA Coach training, safeguarding and first aid. Please contact Adrian Purdy ([email protected]) in the first instance, if you think that could be the next Pep Guardiola of junior football!
