Defibrillator in Memory of Peter Moyses

Defibrillator in Memory of Peter Moyses

A campaign to raise money for a public access defibrillator has been started by Richard Moyses & Julie Pitchford, in memory of their late father Peter, a former member of Southwell City FC. The defibrillator will be situated outside of the football clubhouse in the Memorial Ground.

Richard said “my father spent many years volunteering for the club in many different roles, I have strong links with scouts and the family has always supported heart charities. We as a family hope that this will benefit the football, tennis and bowls clubs, as well as the scouts and all users of the park and playground”

Having a public access defibrillator available in an emergency can be lifesaving, especially in rural areas where ambulance response times may be longer. By using a defibrillator on someone within three minutes of them going into cardiac arrest, their chance of survival is increased to around 75 per cent.

Richard & Julie have raised over half of the money needed so far to fund the cost of the defibrillator. Donations were collected by D J Hall Funeral Directors, on behalf of the family. The football, bowls and tennis clubs have also contributed towards the fund.

To make a small pledge towards this worthy cause, please visit the Just Giving page that has now been set up by Richard & Julie.

New Clubhouse Taking Shape

New Clubhouse

The redevelopment of the Southwell City football clubhouse at Brinkley has been making great progress, despite these difficult times. It is hoped that the building will be open for use by Spring 2021.

Southwell architect Joseph Kemish came up with the design for the new building and the builder carrying out the work is Chris Davies, who is also based locally. Both have been working closely with Jonny Upton and Rich Wilson from the football club.

City Chairman John Cunningham said “Joe and Chris have been so important throughout this whole project. Joe came up with a fantastic design and Chris and his team have been fundamental in delivering his idea. We are confident that the new clubhouse will be a great asset to the football club and the local community. It will also be a great advert for these two local businesses that have been so generous in their support of their local football team. We are all looking forward to it opening in 2021”

To speak to Joe or Chris about any local building project, please contact Joseph Kemish (01636 816972) or Chris Davies (07914 402113) and they will be pleased to assist.

The club will email the Zoom links before each week’s session. Attendees should ensure they join the sessions on time and with microphones muted.
