Southwell City first ever match programme was issued on this day in 1962. The club’s junior team were at home to Highbury Vale in a Notts FA Senior Shield first round match. Originally scheduled to take place on Becket’s Field, the game was player on the War Memorial Recreation Ground pitch. As can be seen from the scribbled, one page programme, City went on to win the match 1-0.
It was not until the 23rd of February 1980 that the club would start to issue regular matchday programme for first team matches.
